Was trying to drag a friend out of bed to play Lost in Limbo, and to that spawned these two memes I did in a rush because I've been trying to sell him the game with Father Pride (I know his tastes).
Feel free to use them LMAO.
Have an alternative version of the second one with Amon, because I had to.

My Heartsteel Headcanons
(Except they’re real things real kpop idols really did)
The guys solve all their problems/make all their decisions by playing rock, paper, scissors. Ezreal always loses
Except for that one time when he didn’t, and he literally got down on his knees and thanked God for him finally not losing
(Yone was the one who lost that time, btw)
Kayn ripped his pants in the middle of a televised performance
While playing charades, the others try (and fail) to make Yone guess “luggage”. A few minutes later, he’s only able to guess the word after Sett (with Aphelios’s help) pretends to be a luggage bag
Kayn can play “Mary Had a little Lamb” on the recorder with his nose. Yone asked if he could play something else, which promoted him to immediately play “My Heart Will Go On”
Ezreal told their fans during a live concert performance that he used to have a really nice jacket that he wore for some performances… until one of his stylists accidentally left it on a lighting device
Long story short, his Gucci burned
Sett cries at the end of every concert
A fan once left a comment during an Instagram live that read “I’m crying in the club”, and Yone immediately responded with “you’re in the club?”
Aphelios can perfectly forge all of his bandmates’s signatures; he’s signed Heartsteel memorabilia with everyone’s signatures before, without anyone else knowing
Ezreal yelled at Sett on TV for wearing insoles in his shoes even though he’s already tall
They like to play games during their concerts, like limbo and “who can unravel a roll of toilet paper the fastest?” (it’s K’sante, but Sett’s a close second)
When he first debuted, Ezreal promoted himself by passing out mints to strangers and asking them to listen to his song
Yone wasn’t able to join the others for a live stream once, so they called him to chat for a bit. Aphelios thought it be funny to hang up on Yone as soon as he answered the phone
He was right
Kayn once showed up to the airport wearing a dog head mask
During an encore performance, the guys decided to have a push up contest while they sang
(Sett swears he won, but everyone else begs to differ)
K’sante once mentioned during a TV interview that Kayn didn’t want to watch a movie with him bc he “doesn’t like watching movies”, which got Kayn (who didn’t want to look bad in front of any movie producers who were potentially watching) so worked up, he threw a pen at the table they were seated at… which bounced right into Yone’s eye
While he was promoting his debut song, Ezreal’s brightly colored stage outfits became a meme after he compared them to different kinds of Listerine online. The meme gained so much traction, Listerine actually sent him boxfuls of mouthwash and a customized cake decorated with some fondant Listerine bottles and a sugar doll version of himself on top
The guys tease Alune a lot. Like, a lot. Sett even once jokingly asked their fans to help them set Alune up on a date bc “she’s always solo” and “it’s so sad 🥺” (pray for her u guys)
K’sante accidentally knocked the head off of a department store mannequin
After watching one of their performances, the CEO of their record label complimented the group members individually, telling them things like “your voice is good”, “you look great”, “keep it up”, etc. But, according to Kayn, the CEO only told him: “your forehead’s wide, so you’ll succeed” (wtf does that even mean??)
Kayn and Ezreal had a Twitter war where they enlisted the help of their fans to Photoshop dumb memes of the other using whatever unflattering images of themselves could be found online
Sett has a habit of napping wherever he can. The guys take advantage of the opportunity by taking pictures of themselves posing around him while he’s asleep; some favorites include K’sante standing above him to recreate “The Creation of Adam”, Aphelios putting q-tips on his mouth, and Ezreal stacking random things on his chest
For his birthday, K’sante was surprised with a birthday cake at the end of their concert. As soon as he blew out the candles, the guys shoved him face-first into the cake. He then proceeded to chase them all down, lobbing chunks of the remaining cake at them
An interviewer once said “Ezreal’s not big” (referring to his height). Ezreal responded by saying, “how do you know I’m not big? 😏” (not referring to his height)
Aphelios choked on his water when he heard Ezreal tell a different interviewer “I’m an innocent boy” (he absolutely isn’t). As he choked, Sett told him to “watch out, babe”
Ezreal told Ernest to leave the frame of a video they were filming, but he spoke the command in Korean (I hc that he’s trilingual). When Ernest actually obeys the command, Kayn asks, in the most incredulous way ever, “your dog speaks Korean??”
*Sett promoting their music to random strangers*: “You want to be happy? Buy the CD! From Riot, listen in your MP3! You are not you and I am not me, bc we are one big family! 😁”
The guys once left Sett and K’sante behind at a gas station at night
Aphelios wrote Ezreal a heartfelt letter, written in Hangul, that he requested to be read during a live performance. Ezreal read the letter out loud; it started out well, until he realized that he recognized the words
He’d know the lyrics to the Sailor Moon theme song anywhere

I think the Deans are fucking Lovecraftian gods
If you're a regular reader of my nonsense, you may have noticed that on more than one occasion I've referred to the Deans as "Nyarlathotep Tumblrsexymen": no, I didn't have a stroke on the keyboard, this is a reference to an entity that appears in the stories of Howard Phillip Lovecraft. A writer who is widely known because there were even people who thought that the Necronomicon, a fictional text part of his work, actually existed (and because he was such a recalcitrant racist that it has become a meme about how extremely racist he was).
And since I'm still going through my pile of papers on Gothic fiction, let me take a moment to talk about Lovecraft's work, why I have reason to believe that the Deans have something in common with these creatures, and what that might mean for the development of Nevermore.
A Little About Lovecraft's Gods
To understand a little bit about the kind of creatures we are talking about, I have to stop at a brief (seriously brief) description of cosmic horror: This is a type of horror that takes elements from the scientific publications of the time (which makes it close to science fiction) to give it verisimilitude, it has at its core a deep nihilism, the breaking of scientific canons, the fragility of the human mind and societies contrasted with the vastness of the universe, an enormous fear of "the unknown" for the white man (fed by his racist paranoia), and seasoned with tentacles and creatures that remind us of sea creatures, because Lovecraft had an enormous fear of the sea.
The gods in these stories represent, on a symbolic level, the vastness of the universe, the terror of the unknown, and the fragility of the human mind: they are entities older than time itself, contact with them tends to shatter the mind, and humanity must be very, very grateful that most of them are locked away or incapacitated in some way. Also, the way to access them is through very specific rituals that have been lost over time, so thankfully they're not very easy to contact either.
Similarities with the Deans
Let's start with the most obvious: the Deans, like the Lovecraftian gods, seem to operate in their own plane of existence, beyond what humans understand as "life" and "death": Nevermore is a kind of limbo, but we know, thanks to the Raven, that these guys came from another place and had enough power to kick the crap out of psychopomps without any problem.
However, just like Lovecraft's gods, these enormous powers don't make them able to do whatever they want; as I said, these entities are usually locked up or incapacitated in some way and can only have contact with humans under certain circumstances (like being summoned in rituals), and getting out of their prisons usually requires vague events like astral alignments that are completely out of their control.
The Deans, like Lovecraft's gods, seem to be subject to rules that are above them, and while they can bend them a bit to achieve their goals, it's not like they can do much about it.
Another thing they have in common with Lovecraft's gods is the ability to create servants that function as extensions of them to fulfill their designs. There are many creatures that follow this line in the stories that speak of The Myths, but the best known are the Shoggoth that appear in the novel At the Mountains of Madness: artificial beings created by the Old Ones to rule the Earth, described as amphibious, amorphous masses similar to amoebas.
Although the Deans prefer their minions in the form of animated dolls. I suspect this decision is based on the story The Sandman by E.T.A. Hoffman. I have no proof, but no doubt.
Now for the joke that brings this essay to life: the creature in Lovecraft's universe that most resembles the Deans is a being called Nyarlathotep. This creature belongs to the category of "Other Gods" (not the old ones like Cthulhu) and gets very nice nicknames like "Crawling Chaos".
Nyarlathotep is a being who enjoys causing chaos, death and madness wherever they go. They can communicate with humans, which they use to psychologically torture them and make them lose their minds. Something they seem to enjoy quite a bit. In the same way that the Deans view this sadistic battle royale, they have set up a fun game.
Then there is the ability to manipulate and alter the human mind, which is called into question in stories like Nyarlathotep and The Rats in the Walls (where it is apparently Nyarlathotep who messes with the protagonist's mind so that he tries to kill his friend).
This is something we've seen manifest in Nevermore in two different ways: the ability to trigger or unlock memories.
And the ability to change them. While we can't know if what was shown to Annabel is 100% real, we do know that showing her the end of her life caused a permanent change in the way she retrieves her memories: from the end backwards. If this memory is somehow altered, we also know that the Deans are capable of photoshopping people's memories.
Finally, Nyarlathotep has the ability to shape-shift, which allows them to appear as humanoids in several stories, such as The Oniric Quest of the Unknown Kadath or Dreams in the Witch's House. His human form is considered "unnatural", "strange" and "disturbing" by those who see it (remember that Lovecraft was extremely racist, so he always presents himself as a black man). As a pharaoh in the Randolph Carter cycle and as a charcoal humanoid figure in the second story cited).
Here, the human form of whatever the Deans are is also quite atypical: not only are they ridiculously tall (7 feet), they have heterochromia with a white-colored eye (which I would venture to say may be a reference to the cataract eye mentioned in the story "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe), and their synchronized movements are amusing on paper, but possibly strange to look at for the characters.
Otherwise, there are two other entities in Lovecraft's universe whose descriptions can be loosely associated with the Deans: Yogg-Sothoth and Azathoth. Both are beings of dual nature.
The former is an entity associated with omniscience and appears in stories such as The Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward and The Dunwich Horror. and is described as "the key and the door".
Azathoth represents omnipotence, is the center of the universe, and is described as "the beginning and the end" or "the alpha and the omega.
Implications for the comic
The fact that the Deans have elements in common with Nyarlathotep brings up an interesting point: although Nyarlathotep has far greater freedom than other beings, they is a servant of Azathoth. In other words, them powers are subservient to a more powerful being whose plans they must follow. They may amuse themselves in the process, but they is still essentially a butler.
On the other hand, the Azathoth connection might be vague, since this creature is a lobotomized god, so he can't do much. But if the reference is to Yogg-Sothoth, it gets a little more interesting, because that entity is the one who is supposed to release the original gods when the time is right.
And I don't know about you, but these references have me wondering if the Deans are working for something much more messed up than they are, or if they're using the souls of the students to bring back something much more sinister.

Are any of the boys still in contact with their families?
Congratulations anon, you've unlocked some angsty backstories and one surprise lore drop. Beneath the cut for length.
Wind - He's got a very active Whatsapp with Aryll where they send memes and snarky commentary, and it goes off multiple times per day. He calls his grandma at least three times per week, if not more. She'd be berating him to move home if she didn't think he was still in college. His dad does the old-school thing of sending him cards for his birthday and for holidays, as well as the random card, all containing checks for exorbitant amounts of rupees. Wind's mother died a long time ago.
Wild/Champion - Lost all contact with previous family after the accident. Anything more would be spoilers.
Sky - Has no family to speak of, his parents died when he was quite young. But Sky is happy-go-lucky. He was quite literally raised by a village back home, growing up in the small town of Skyloft where everyone knew literally everyone else. He could fall asleep in anyone's house and no one would care. He'll get calls or letters or care packages from his friends and neighbors back home now and then.
Warriors - He and his twin sister, Linkle, were always close and he would love to be able to call her or text her. He was truly a mama's boy growing up, too, and had a very close relationship with his mother. More often than not, though, when Warriors makes a call back home for a holiday greeting, it's his father that picks up. The conversation is short, curt. "Where are you living now? Do you have a job yet?" And it typically ends with "I'll tell them you said hello" and his dad chasing him off of the phone before he can talk with anyone else.
Hyrule - Hyrule is actually from outside of Hyrule. His home life was pretty unstable growing up, and he poured most of his time and attention into his studies. He could get reliable positive reinforcement from teachers and the like for good grades. Since leaving Calatia, Hyrule has no real reason to reach out to his family. If they knew he had any access to money, honestly, that would make his life a living hell.
Twilight - Poor Twi is in this weird limbo situation where he still wants his parents love and approval and is slowly, painfully coming to terms with the fact that he's never going to get it. His father is doggedly waiting for Twilight to come back to the farm and do as he's expected to, taking over the family business whether he wants to or not. His mother loves him, but his father's opinion of Twilight's lifestyle and choices really taints their interactions. Twi and Colin are as close as can be, and as soon as Colin has a phone they will be texting with just as much frequency as Wind and Aryll.
Four, Legend - Neither have any living family.
Time - He talks with Malon frequently, multiple times per week. She's very invested in the situation with the boys, and Time can't get enough of hearing her voice and her laughter. He will text with his sister Uli on occasion when she asks about Twilight, careful to protect Twilight's privacy while subtly nudging his sister toward reconciliation. He gets the occasional email or text message from his brother, Wind's father, that 9 times out of 10 he will ignore with no small amount of guilt. Tingle's just not the easiest person to talk to.

imma join the "crowley's not gonna be a miserable cunt" bandwagon.
It's fun to meme about the Last 15 Minutes as the ineffable divorce, but they're both smarter than that. They both know they love each other, they've both indirectly confessed to one another. Even if during their last moments there were tons of misunderstandings in their "talk" when they just spoke towards one another instead of listening to what the other one had to say. And they for sure hurt each other in the process.
Sure, in the series Crowley mourns his dead best friend drunk in a bar, but the scene was supposed to originally happen in the St. James Park. This time, Aziraphale isn't dead, he's just gone upstairs. Crowley might despise his reasoning, but I think he'd connect the dots and understand them, even if he condemns them. Hell still wants its war that Aziraphale started. Crowley knows the Second Coming is underway from his infiltration into Heaven.
Crowley's precious, peaceful, fragile existence he/they carved out for himself/them is gone. I dunno am I gonna be the only one thinking this, but I think it’s a good thing! Crowley didn’t seem to be too happy with his current state, tired of living in his car, questioning the meaning to it all to Shax. Series!Crowley has been running all this time, he’s been living in a limbo and something needed to happen for him to wake up from his stupor. I think S3 is going to force both Aziraphale and Crowley to mature to the beings they were in the book. Aziraphale was So Done with Heaven. Crowley was an optimist.
If there was one rock-hard certainty that had sustained him through the bad times— he thought briefly of the fourteenth century— then it was utter surety that he would come out on top; that the universe would look after him.
Crowley's lived amongst humans for 6000 years and he's seen the shit they live through time and time again. He's gone local. Families lost to war/plague/other horror, diseases riddling their fragile bodies, misfortune after misfortune can pour down on these miserable creatures... and they somehow always get up and live on. They hope. They've got no choice but to. They heal, they'll remarry, get more kids. They'll love again and again. Their love isn't vanquished. Grief is, after all, love's natural continuation.
Even if it’s always Too Late, he has to stop running and start trying. And hoping. That’s the human way. That’s the Us way.
So no, I don’t think Crowley’s gonna waste time being sad. What Crowley's gonna be is MAD. Mad at Heaven (maybe a teensy bit mad at Aziraphale but that's besides the point) for their schemes. He'd love to get away from it all, but now that the other half of his group has been dragged back into the shitshow, I think he's going to start scheming on his own. Planning how to save his angel, the other half of his group, yet again.

Title: The Marshal’s Court
Genre: Romantic Dramedy (In the style of Bridgerton)
Setting: The First French Empire, Napoleon’s Marshals as the central characters
Season 1, Episode 7: “Fractures and Farewells”
Episode Synopsis:
As Season 1 nears its conclusion, the stakes have never been higher for Napoleon’s Marshals. Junot’s mental state continues to decline, and the Marshals face a difficult decision on whether to step in before he becomes a danger to himself and others. Meanwhile, Bessières and Murat struggle with their relationship after the kiss, with Bessières seeking guidance from his faith and Murat feeling increasingly alienated. Davout and Bernadotte’s rivalry reaches a critical breaking point, forcing Napoleon to take drastic action to restore order. And in the midst of it all, Soult faces an unexpected challenge that threatens his role both as a Marshal and as the group’s unofficial chef.
The episode sets the stage for an explosive finale as fractures widen, emotions flare, and loyalties are tested.
Opening Scene: Junot’s Decline
The episode opens with a somber tone as Junot is seen sitting alone in the courtyard, muttering to himself and pacing in circles. His once sharp uniform is disheveled, and his eyes have a wild, distant look. Lannes and Ney watch from a distance, clearly concerned but unsure of how to approach him.
“Do we talk to him?” Ney asks, frowning.
Lannes shakes his head. “He’s not the man he used to be. I’m not sure talking will help.”
The camera follows Junot as he stares blankly at the sky, lost in thought. Suddenly, he draws his sword and begins swiping at thin air, as if imagining an invisible enemy. The scene is haunting, and it’s clear that Junot’s deterioration is accelerating.
Later, Soult, noticing Junot’s state, quietly sends him another éclair. When Junot receives it, he pauses, his expression softening slightly. For a brief moment, there’s a glimmer of the old Junot as he takes a bite and smiles faintly.
“Thank you, Soult,” he whispers to himself, as if his old friend can hear him.
Fan Reactions: The scene with Junot and the éclair tugs at viewers’ hearts, with fans continuing to rally behind the #SaveJunot movement. One popular meme shows Junot looking at the éclair with the caption, “An éclair a day keeps the madness at bay… for now.” Fans appreciate the tender moment of kindness from Soult, with many speculating that this small gesture might be the only thing keeping Junot from completely unraveling.
Murat and Bessières: After the Kiss
The tension between Murat and Bessières is palpable throughout the episode. After their kiss in Episode 6, the two have barely spoken, and the distance between them is becoming more obvious. Murat, ever the passionate and impulsive one, feels rejected by Bessières’ sudden retreat and is growing increasingly frustrated.
Bessières, on the other hand, is consumed by guilt. In a quiet moment, we see him in the church once again, seeking guidance from the priest. He kneels, his head bowed, and confesses his inner turmoil.
“I don’t know what to do, Father. I care for him, but I fear I’m losing my way.”
The priest listens, but his advice is cryptic: “The heart is a battlefield too, my son. But you must decide whether you fight for love or surrender to guilt.”
Later, Murat confronts Bessières in a secluded part of the palace gardens.
“I can’t keep doing this, Bessières. One moment, you’re with me, and the next, you run away.”
Bessières, looking torn, simply replies, “It’s not that simple.”
Their conversation is cut short when Napoleon summons them both for an urgent meeting, leaving their relationship hanging in limbo.
Fan Reactions: The Bessimu fandom is in full swing, with fans divided over whether Bessières should follow his heart or his faith. #BessimuOnceMore trends as fans eagerly await more development between the two. One fan tweets, “Bessières, just tell Murat how you really feel! Confession won’t fix this!” Memes showing Murat frustrated with Bessières’ indecision quickly circulate, with captions like, “When your heart says yes but your rosary says no.”
Davout vs. Bernadotte: The Breaking Point
The rivalry between Davout and Bernadotte comes to a head in this episode. During a heated strategy session with Napoleon, Bernadotte makes one final attempt to undermine Davout’s authority by publicly questioning his competence.
“You think you’re better than the rest of us, Davout. But all that discipline and cold calculation won’t save you when you’re outnumbered on the battlefield.”
Davout, calm at first, finally snaps. He stands, his face cold with fury, and delivers a chilling response.
“At least I lead with more than my tongue. The battlefield requires strategy, not just charm.”
The room falls silent as the tension becomes unbearable. Napoleon, clearly frustrated with the constant infighting, finally slams his hand on the table.
“Enough!” he shouts. “I will not have my Marshals tearing each other apart while the Empire’s enemies gather strength. Bernadotte, you’re relieved of command for the upcoming campaign.”
Bernadotte is stunned. His face hardens, and it’s clear that this humiliation will have lasting consequences.
Fan Reactions: Fans are ecstatic about Davout’s takedown of Bernadotte. #TeamDavout trends yet again, with fans celebrating his icy composure. Memes of Bernadotte’s shocked face circulate with captions like, “When you think you’re the hero but get benched.” However, some fans are worried about Bernadotte’s next move, with theories emerging that he might seek revenge in a future episode.
Soult’s Challenge: The Chef Faces Fire
In the subplot, Soult is preparing another grand feast for Napoleon and foreign dignitaries. However, his plans are derailed when he receives word of a surprise inspection from Napoleon. The stress of balancing military duties and his baking passion begins to overwhelm him, and we see Soult frantically juggling both tasks, making battle plans while overseeing pastry preparations.
At one point, Lefebvre enters the kitchen to find Soult juggling both a sword and a whisk. “You’re going to need more than éclairs to survive this one, Soult,” Lefebvre quips.
Despite the mounting pressure, Soult manages to pull off a near-perfect feast, but it’s clear that the stress is taking a toll on him.
Fan Reactions: The #SoultBakes fandom is loving this subplot, with memes showing Soult wielding a sword in one hand and a whisk in the other. One fan tweets, “Soult: Conqueror of Europe AND the kitchen. What can’t he do?” However, there’s growing concern that Soult may be reaching his breaking point, with fans speculating that the stress of balancing two worlds will eventually catch up to him.
Closing Scene: The Cliffhanger Setup
The episode ends with a sudden and unexpected development. As the Marshals prepare for their next campaign, Napoleon receives word that Prussia is mobilizing its forces, threatening to strike at France’s vulnerable eastern borders. The threat is immediate and serious.
Napoleon summons his Marshals for an emergency meeting, and tensions are high. The camera zooms in on each of their faces—Davout remains stoic, Bernadotte seethes in the background, Murat looks distracted (still thinking about Bessières), and Junot seems on the verge of another breakdown.
The episode ends with Napoleon delivering a single line: “We march east.”
Cut to black.
Fan Reactions: The cliffhanger leaves fans reeling. The sudden threat of Prussia has everyone buzzing, with fans speculating that the season will end with a massive battle. Memes of Napoleon dramatically declaring, “We march east,” flood social media. One fan tweets, “You know it’s serious when even Murat stops thinking about Bessières for five minutes.” Theories abound about how the season will end, with many predicting that Junot’s breakdown will coincide with the looming conflict.
Teasers for Episode 8:
• The Prussian threat becomes real as the Marshals prepare for a major battle, but cracks in their unity threaten to tear them apart on the eve of war.
• Junot’s mental state continues to deteriorate, and the Marshals must decide if he is still fit for command—or if they must act to protect him from himself.
• Bessières is forced to confront his feelings for Murat when they are sent on a joint mission, but will he push Murat away again?
• Bernadotte plots his next move after his humiliation, and it might spell trouble for Napoleon’s plans.
The episode sets the stage for a season-ending cliffhanger, with tensions mounting both on and off the battlefield. Fans are already speculating about how the season will conclude, with many predicting that the battle with Prussia will either unite the Marshals—or destroy them.

I'm so alone lately.
My phone is busy with texts and memes, but never ablaze with true conversation.
When I need someone, my phone falls silent, leaving me lost in derealisation.
I shake as my thumbs scrap together letters, incoherently asking for aid.
My pleads for help are left on read, and I'm sitting here in limbo, afraid.
It's such a lonely life in this day and age.

@vaulttecexec sent: [ final ] sender and receiver share a kiss for the very last time, and they know it's their last
It's not bitter and it's not sweet, it exists in some sort of limbo space between the two while somehow being neither of them. It hurts, that much he knows, that is a feeling he can identify. Everything just became too much for him, for them both. He couldn't look at her the same anymore and she naturally got tired of defending herself. A part of him understands her motivations and he tried to understand more but he couldn't. So that was that.
Now they've signed the papers, the newspapers have told their own story of their sordid tale, a far cry from reality if there ever was one. There's no love lost, not to him, but it's different. It's changed. It's not the same. And it breaks his heart.
He walks her to her car--old habits die hard and he apologizes one last time for all of it. It's not his fault nor is it hers; there are powers at work far greater than the sum of them. They both want to do what's right, they just disagree on what that is.
He can't help the way he reaches out to her, cups her cheek in his hand and apologizes again. This time it's really the last time. He kisses her softly just at the corner of her lips--any closer would be too much, any further wouldn't feel right either. It's the best he can do before he turns and walks away with a final goodbye.

I am insane abt noah too… I’d love to know some of your hcs or thoughts or anything you have in that doc you’ve written, if you don’t mind sharing 💓
[insert sickos meme]
YEAH i think in my meta i just wrote too much about how the it lives series is like. the heart of it is mc & the marshall twins. i'll die on that hill. and also ofc the entirety of it lives being about breaking cycles. & like ofc bias here as a noah apologist but here have some paraphrased bullets frm my essay LOL I COULD TALK ABOUT THIS ALL DAY:
Essentially my thesis is like. The Marshall twins: Noah was Jane's whole world and he’ll always feel guilty that he couldn’t save her. MC’s her best friend and the love they had for each other was strong and real and MC will always feel guilt and blame for her her death. It’s a fucked up little circle of grief and blame because they’re both like: Why didn’t I stop this/Why didn’t I save her/Why was it not me/This is my fault
the way the horror genre is often about loss… like the horror of It Lives lies in how painful grief is, and exploring how grief can manifest itself and pain breeding pain and stuff. and it's so different across the book 1 cast but i think noah and mc are so similar in just. they blame themselves and carry jane's death the hardest... and uhhh
the fact they’re in their senior year. And how after this they’re “grown ups” and they have to go to college or get jobs or both. And how redfield/jane represents the youth they lost and will never have again. And red/jane bringing the gang all back for one last game because there’d be no games after that--all of jane’s friends will have to grow up. All of jane’s friends will become adults and she’ll be left behind in this terrible limbo state where she’ll never get to move on the way everyone else could. Like they have to grow up, they can’t stop and stay and play games in the woods like they used to anymore because then they'd never let go of what happened to them. And the end scene where everyone, if they're strong, can declare they're not scared--that's it. They've learned they can let go.
And it aches and it aches so much in the finale when you realize that this happens for everyone EXCEPT MC and Noah. everyone grows up. They played together. They finish the game. They can move on. Their arcs are wonderfully done. But these two people literally don't have the option of that!
so sacrifice MC and Noah have that choice to make that like. They both can’t make it out alive by this point, and they have to choose (assuming like. you get the choice lol the tragedy of noah flying off the handle and killing mc is another thing entirely re: nerve mechanic and whatnot)
And like definitely up to player perception and completely fair at this point if ppl make their choice becuz Fuck Noah Marshall or other reasons to save MC lol no judgement but my thoughts on like. the choice is like.
MC dies, because MC thinks Noah has to live. Despite it all and no matter what consequences he has to face, Noah Marshall has to keep being alive because he’s spent his entire youth stuck in a limbo state of wanting to disappear and be gone and he can’t even have the grace of dying now. He has to live.
Noah dies, because Noah thinks MC has to live, because MC saved him. He’s made peace with his death a long time ago, and this was his fault. MC has been nothing but grounded and carries in them the optimism and belief that grief does not end in pain, but you carry it with you, and you live. MC has to live for the person who can’t
anywyays i'm like. i'm TOTALLY fine and having a NORMAL one
#ilitw#amanda answers#THIS IS JUST IT LIVES META BUT IT'S LIKE. THE WAYS NOAH AND MC ARE THE SAME IN THEIR MISERY AND JUST. NO ONE UNDERSTANDS IT THE WAY THEY DO#NOAH AND MC UNDERSTAND THEIR GRIEF THE MOST!! THEY'RE THE ONLY ONES WHO SEE EACH OTHER AND SEE JANE AT THE VERY END BECAUSE JANE LOVED THEM#AND THEY'RE THE ONLY PEOPLE CAPABLE OF TAKING ON HER CURSE... CUZ THEY'RE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN......#i;m fine.#sorry this is so long. i have one thousand evil feelings.

GET TO KNOW YOUR ADMIN !!
name — Bryn
pronouns — She/Her.
preferred comms — Discord for sure! I'm on Discord basically all the time and I try to be pretty responsive to things. If you unlock the secret friendship tier, I will also bother you with memes/ship inspo/random conversation/etc. but even if you don't want that, it's got a big window and a search bar so it is infinitely better for plotting than anything else. That said, I do tumblr IMs too, if necessary.
name of muse — quickdeaths.tumblr.com/muses there's a lot of them take your pick
experience in RP — I started out 17-18 years ago on the forums for a D&D webcomic. Eventually I checked out of that scene, bounced around LiveJournal, had a cup of coffee in Gaia Online, and then came to Tumblr around 2012ish. Was pretty off-and-on here until 2015, and I've been part of the furniture here ever since. I've done a few things on Discord and through Google Docs since, but I think for better or worse, I'm just Here Now.
best experiences — Meeting my girlfriend will always be #1! We met here on tumblr and even though she doesn't RP as much anymore, I'm always going to be thankful for the things we wrote, and how RPing together helped us become friends, and then girlfriends. After that, all the things I've done with people that were long-term and plotted, with mutual investment. I've been doing this long enough now that even people who've left or who I fell out with, I still have a lot of fondness for those stories, as well as the long-term stories I'm doing now.
pet peeves / dealbreakers — The number one ultimate pet peeve for me is people dropping threads without personally notifying their partners. Not everyone lurks on dash, and it's easy to miss posts, and when people say things like 'gonna drop some of my drafts,' it's easy to feel like you've been put in a limbo state. Hiatuses are one thing but dropped threads like that just drive me crazy. Super long wait times on replies (I'm talking like, consistently 2-3 months or more) are rough for me too. Lack of communication as well, especially when it comes to choosing a muse(s) to write with.
muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) — Angst > fluff > smut for me. I'm an angsty bitch and I love the drama. I like drilling down into character flaws and weaknesses and forcing them to Go Through It and confront things they don't super want to confront, so I'll probably never get tired of writing angsty stuff. I like fluffy stuff too, but a bit more sparingly just because sometimes I think it can get a little circular. Smut... to be honest, I'm not against writing it if a plot calls for it and it makes sense for characters but I've had a handful of rough experiences in the past with people, and it's an area where I'm not very confident as a writer. You will never see a spicy sideblog from me though, I will simply put it on dash like a shameless heathen.
plot or memes — plots plots plots. Honestly, I would never do memes at all if it weren't The Culture here on tumblr. I never know who to send for, or from, when it comes to multimuses, I worry that the ideas aren't interesting and can't sustain long replies, and they don't usually inspire me. Plotting is great because you can figure out a dynamic, whether there's any preexisting knowledge, maybe a general direction you want things to go, etc. Almost everything I've loved doing has come from plots, but I'll still be offering both forever.
long or short replies — have you seen my blog i should be locked up and the key thrown away. I have lost the ability to write a reply under 5 paragraphs and with Certain People Who Know Who They Are I get up to like 8, 10, 12, occasionally some deeply unhinged 33 paragraph drabbles. I don't even have a good excuse really, it's just what feels comfortable for me to write. It lets me do all the inner world stuff that I use to round out my characters in a scene and contextualize them, while still (hopefully) having enough action and dialogue to respond to.
best time to write — It depends. Late afternoon/early evening is probably best, but later evening is fine too. Sometimes I will start a Particularly Ambitious Reply late late late and get too tired to finish it, and then finish it when I get up in the morning, and that seems to work for me too.
are you like your muse — Not really, I don't think? Although I guess that's for other people to judge. I try to give all my muses traits that I can relate to on some level, or at least one thing that feels connective between us, but I honestly think I'm too boring to be a very good RP character. I think Rio is probably the character I'm most similar to, but even then, I think it's more superficial similarities like hobbies than much else.
Tagged by: @more-than-a-princess Tagging: i will fill this in later, if you are seeing this post then i forgot to fill it in and that means it is a runabout, you can steal it, no one will ever know
